I At 8:30 Evo and Zihad, our new student buddies arrived at the hotel. They are waiting at the lobby. I feel so comfortable with them especially to Evo because he’s very friendly and humorous. Our first destination was Legenda Gua Kreo. A place where there are a lot of monkeys. Many tourists visited the place and during our visit, some of them are feeding the monkeys with biscuits and bananas. The monkeys were so happy and enjoyed the food offered to them. We walked down and we saw the Bendungan which is like a dam and there was a fishing competition that time. We went up and walked around the mountain with caves.
At 12 o’clock, we ate our lunch at Richeese Factory. I felt great because it’s my first time eating spicy chicken with different level. I ordered level 3 while others ordered level 1 and 5. Zihad gave me a piece of level 5 and I tasted it. So creamy with the rich cheese sauce but as I expected, it burns my lips.
While waiting for our next destination, we went to the biggest mall in Semarang City, the Paragon Mall. We just walked around to see the beauty of the mall.
After the window shopping at Paragon mall, we went back to our Car then we transferred to a bus. Yes, we rode a bus for free. We visited Kota Lama using the free bus and for the second time around visiting Kota Lama, I still feel the same excitement as I felt for the first time.

This week was my actual teaching. From hostel, I was thinking if my mentor would let me teach independently today. Upon arriving at school, the students and teachers were all setting in an area for the Flag ceremony. Flag ceremony was held during first Monday and third Monday of the month. I wore traditional attire from my Province, Benguet Philippines. During flag ceremony, I observed that students and teachers are very nationalistic and showed their love and dedication to their country. After the announcements of some information, we took a lot of pictures per class in each grade level.

During my first break my mentor informed me that I have to teach independently during afternoon class. She called me and sent to me the lesson and the coverage. She said she’ll try to help me if the students don’t understand the hard words. Luckily, I was able to deliver my first teaching class independently. My mentor hugged me and showed me how she feels after the class. It was overwhelming! J

I stayed at the hostel and finished household chores. I also prepared all my lesson plans and my instructional materials.
